Fabian Perez Named Official Artist of the Latin Grammy Awards
Latin Recording President Gabriel Abaroa, artist Fabian Perez, and Recording Academy President Neil Portnow during the 10th annual Latin GRAMMY Awards nominations held at The Conga Room at L.A. Live on September 17, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.
Fabian Perez created the official artwork for the 2009 10th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards
The Latin Recording Academy has named Fabian Perez the official artist of the 10th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. Fabian’s artwork will be proudly used as the official image for the world’s premier Latin music event and will grace the cover of the 10th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards invitation, show tickets, poster, program book and other important applications. The commissioned artwork was recently unveiled at a press conference in Los Angeles announcing this year’s Latin GRAMMY nominees. The painting will be in the permanent collection at the Museum of the Latin Recording Academy of Arts and Science.
"We are excited to have an artist with such understanding and enthusiasm for Latin culture and its music," says Latin Recording Academy President Gabriel Abaroa. "Fabian's timeless artwork is filled with energy and emotion. His piece brings a human element to our artwork, a first in Latin GRAMMY history that captures the excitement and passion of the performer. It is a perfect fit for celebrating 10 years of the Latin GRAMMY Awards."
Fabian will be painting a commissioned portrait honoring world renowned singer, composer, and songwriter, Juan Gabriel as the 2009 Person of the Year. Mr. Gabriel was selected by the Latin Academy of Arts and Science for this honor. Fabian will personally present this extraordinary portrait to Mr. Gabriel at a private reception, hosted by The Latin Music Academy. Over 1,500 V.I.P. guests will attend. This will take place the night before the Latin GRAMMY Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 4, 2009.
Fabian was also selected by the United States Olympic Committee along with world renowned artist Leroy Neiman to paint the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
Fabian has had over 130 Solo Exhibitions around the world, from New York to Beijing, China, from London, England to Sidney, Australia. Fabian’s unique style, combining passion, color, and romance on the edge, is stunningly portrayed by this student of life. The warmth of Fabian’s subjects is as central to his images as their beauty and seductiveness. Fabian’s images are characterized by a passionate narrative style and an intoxicating atmosphere, both of which originate in his fascinating and unusual background. Fabian’s extraordinary upbringing, philosophical views and emotional integrity have all had a profound impact on all his work and have combined with his unique talent to create a genuinely formidable artistic force which has swept across the contemporary art world.
Fabian has a busy 2010 schedule, which includes touring the globe for various solo exhibitions throughout the year with stops in England, New York, and the South Pacific.
