Isaac Maimon

High-fashion-clad women meeting in Parisienne coffee houses. Colors that are bold and bright. The air is full of promises and secrets just like any self-respecting bistro -- the essence of a true urban scene. This is Isaac Maimon's first love, which he paints and sculpts with consuming passion.
Maimon's paintings capture the French "boulevard culture" which so intrigued Lautrec and Matisse before him. As a restauranteur and pub owner in the 80's, he was often found sitting at a back table sketching the patrons. Later in his studio he would put color to the ideas on canvas.
Maimon's intrepid use of color and line creates works that are absorbing, rich, and always uniquely Maimon. His body of work is a tribute to femininity.
