Mihoko

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Mihoko's artistic talents were recognized at a very early age. She attended the Joshibi schools for artistically gifted students, and later the University of Art and Design in Tokyo. Her formal education provided a solid foundation which she continues to nurture through study and diligent work.

Travels throughout the world afforded Mihoko the opportunity to see great art and to study with teachers from Europe and America. She gradually evolved from being a figurative artist, painting still lifes, portraits, and landscapes, to being completely abstract.

Today Mihoko's art is all about "Visual Jazz." Inspired by the jazz greats, she translates what she hears into color, line, light, shape, and texture. She never paints without music and each painting is the result of her music visualization. Mihoko currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii and is available for commissioned pieces.
