Photo of Artist Peggy Ann Thompson

Peggy Ann Thompson does all her work in oils on canvas with a palette knife. Her unique impressionistic style was developed by experimenting with the palette knife and lots of paint. "I wanted to get away from so much detail and the knife allows me to do so. I love the effect of layering colors with heavy broad strokes. Communicating what I see and feel through canvas and color remains an exciting adventure."

Peggy Ann has painted all her life, inspired by her mother, established artist Pan Thompson. Having lived in Hawaii for over 20 years, she thrives on the natural beauty around her, and is able to share that beauty through her masterful perceptions of color and light.

Thompson won the Lahaina Poster Contest in 2001 and has been accepted into Art Maui in 1999, 2000, and 2002.
