Fruits of Creation

"The truth has many colors." Victor Bregeda

"The Fruits of Creation" is a lighthearted visual exploration by Victor Bregeda of the sources of his artistic inspiration and creativity. As in his prior painting "Celestial Symphony", Victor depicts himself painting at his easel, in a little boat floating on calm waters, representing the subconscious and intuitive forces that underlie and support the creative artist. Victor's little boat is tied to a fence on shore; as in his painting "Inspiration", that which is beyond the fence symbolizes the interior of Victor's soul.

The first element that we see beyond the fence is the artist's palette, with all of the colors, and the ladder, connecting the physical and spiritual realms. To the far right is the old book, representing the ancient teachings which have been passed down to us, and the bookmarks in varied shapes and shades, because "the truth has many colors". The fruits represent the life force; Victor shows them with faces because everything has its own spirit and being-ness, even an inanimate object or a piece of fruit. On one fruit rests a ladybug, symbol of good luck. The book and the fruits are on the grass, signifying nature, a continual source of inspiration for Victor.

All of these elements combine to create an evolutionary process, depicted by the houses which gradually get more finished as they move upward, culminating in a flying boat, at which point the artistic creation can take place.
