A new EOS painting of Buzz Aldrin has been jury-selected by the American Society of Aviation Artists to hang in the National Museum of the US Air Force for the 33rd Annual ASAA International Art Exhibition!
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11's moon landing, Buzz Aldrin’s iconic image characterizes the past, present and future of humanity's accomplishments in Aviation and Space. He stands atop planet Earth reflecting the dawn of flight in his gold visor. His arms embrace a silver laced Moon symbolizing the sum total of science and engineering enabling man's ascendance to the lunar surface, while he points to mankind's next giant leap, Mars.
"High Art": A Decade of Collecting -- The Museum maintains one of the world's most comprehensive collections including over 7,000 pieces. The artwork offers artistic visions as a way to inspire us and stretch our imaginations. This art exhibition affords us the opportunity to show 50 of the works acquired in the last decade, contemporary artists with boundless imaginations. Mimi Stuart's painting captures Eugene Cernan’s own memory of his walk on the moon.
Touching on the past, present, and future of flight... the exhibitions offer visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate the technology that enables men and women to survive in space, and then to step away from the impressive hardware that fills the rest of the Museum and enter the space of the imagination, created by a group of visionary artists.

Art Takes Times Square scoured the globe for today's greatest creative talent to be displayed in a massive exhibition on the glittering digital screens of Time's Square. This is a huge validation of the importance of Mimi Stuart in today's art scene.
It's official: the new home for two of the Apollo 11 Anniversary Collection paintings is the San Diego Air & Space Museum! The Museum set up Magnificent Desolation and Earth's Backyard for public display in their Space Hall last month, where they will reside permanently.
Aerospace aficionados may be interested to know that the last remaining EOS portrait of Buzz Aldrin, titled Beyond, will be made available for purchase in the near future through Sargent's Fine Art. At the moment it must stay on the east coast for upcoming airshows and museum exhibits, but close-up photos can be viewed at any time. Dr Aldrin autographed Beyond at the 40th Anniversary Celebration of Apollo XI aboard the USS Hornet Aircraft Museum when close to 4 thousand visitors crowded in to hear him speak. Another of the EOS Apollo 11 Collection paintings, MQF, remains aboard the floating museum in the USS Hornet's permanent collection.
